About UsThe Solar Shift summer course is organized and hosted by The Centre for Renewable Energy (ZEE) and the M.Sc. program Renewable Energy Management (REM) in collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The ZEE is an interdisciplinary and cross-faculty centre of the University of Freiburg. It acts as a central scientific facility; it brings together scientific institutions within the university that engage in renewable energy problems in research and education, as well as forming cooperation agreements with institutions from outside the university in the areas of research, education, and advanced training. The M.Sc. REM programme is administered by the ZEE. It is designed to close the strategic gap between the technical aspects of renewable energy and the vision of sustainable development. The two year industry oriented program attracts students from all over the world and aims to provide them with a context sensitive first-class training in the field of “Renewable Energy Management”. Financing for the summer course is provided by the DAAD.
